Abstract

Kalimantan Tengah's Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) in quarter IV-2019 was 106.29. This shows that in general consumers feel an improvement in economic conditions in quarter IV-2019 with a higher level of optimism compared to quarter III-2019 (index value of 103.99)
  • The improvement in consumer economic conditions in the fourth quarter of 2019 was mainly driven by inflation that did not affect the level of household consumption (index value of 112.36), increased consumption volume (index value of 109.63), and relatively increased household income (index value of 101.65).
  • Kalimantan Tengah's ITK in the first quarter of 2020 is estimated at 97.68 which shows the economic condition of consumers declining compared to the fourth quarter-2019 (ITK value of 106.29).
  • The estimated decline in consumer economic conditions in the coming quarter was mainly triggered by a decline in purchases of durable goods (index value of 75.03). Meanwhile, the estimated household income actually increased (index value of 110.61).
