Abstract

The economy of Kalimantan Tengah in the second quarter of 2021 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices reached Rp41,226.8 billion and on a constant basis in 2010 reached Rp25,340,3 billion.

The economy of Kalimantan Tengah in the second quarter of 2021 compared to the second quarter of 2020 (y-on-y) grew 5.56 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Information and Communications Category which grew by 26.74 percent, while the category that experienced contraction was only the Mining and Quarrying Category by 5.49 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth occurred in the Government Consumption Expenditure Component which grew by 16.74 percent.

The economy of Kalimantan Tengah in the second quarter of 2021 compared to the first quarter of 2021 (q-to-q) grew by 2.92 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the category of Government Administration, Defense and Mandatory Social Security which grew by 73.02 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the highest growth occurred in the Government Consumption Expenditure Component which grew by 36.39 percent.

Kalimantan Tengah's economic growth in semester I-2021 (c-to-c) grew by 1.10 percent. All categories experienced growth, except for Mining and Quarrying which contracted by 15.28 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the highest growth occurred in the Government Consumption Expenditure Component which grew by 4.15 percent.

The economy of all provinces in the Kalimantan region in the second quarter of 2021, both y-on-y and q-to-q, grew positively. The economy of Kalimantan Barat experienced the highest growth of up to 10.81 percent.
