Abstract

Farmer's Exchange Rate (FER) is the ratio of the price index received by farmers (It) to the index of price paid by farmers (Ib).

FER is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. FER also shows the terms of trade (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.

The Joint FRE of Kalimantan Tengah in July 2022 decreased by 5.94 percent compared to June 2022, from 118.18 to 111.16. This decrease was caused by the decline in the exchange rate in several sub-sectors, namely the smallholder plantation sub-sector (9.26 percent), the livestock sub-sector (1.59 percent), the fisheries sub-sector (0.91 percent) and the food crops sub-sector (0.80 percent). . Meanwhile, the horticulture sub-sector was the only sub-sector that experienced an increase in the exchange rate, which was 0.66 percent.

In July 2022 there was an increase in the Household Consumption Index in Kalimantan Tengah by 0.11 percent which was mainly due to an increase in the price index for the education group (1.39 percent), housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups (0. 59 percent), and clothing and footwear (0.51 percent).

Similar to FER, Kalimantan Tengah's Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate in July 2022 also decreased by 5.98 percent, from 119.32 (June 2022) to 112.18 (July 2022).
