The Commodity Flow Matrix Survey

As in previous years, in 2020, BPS carried out SMAK activities or the Commodity Flow Matrix Survey. Departing from the need for complete and detailed cross-regional export and import data, as well as the importance of inter-province export-import transaction data as a component in the formation of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) by expenditure, SMAK is carried out.

Some of the objectives of the SMAK are to produce an inter-regional export-import structure by commodity (KBKI) and develop a commodity flow matrix. The expectation of this goal is to get a picture of inter-province export-import transactions for dominant commodities in a region and traded out of the region. It is also hoped that SMAK can obtain information about superior products from the district of origin and other districts. The area covered by SMAK is not only inter-regency export-import, but also from and to other provinces and abroad.
