Abstract

Of the 82 national CPI monitoring cities, 72 experienced inflation and 10 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Batam (1.28 percent) and the highest deflation was in Manado (1.88 percent). Palangka Raya and Sampit were ranked 18th and 11th highest inflation cities at the national level.
  • Inflation in Palangka Raya (0.63 percent) was influenced by increases in the price index of the transportation, communication and financial services group (2.43 percent), processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco (0.65 percent), and foodstuffs (0 , 38 percent).
  • Inflation in Sampit (0.70 percent) was influenced by increases in the price index of the transportation, communication and financial services group (3.78 percent), processed food, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco (0.43 percent), and clothing (0, 24 percent).
  • Based on the two reference cities (Palangka Raya and Sampit), Kalimantan Tengah Province experienced inflation (0.66 percent), followed by a calendar year inflation rate and a year-on-year inflation rate (2.45 percent) which was quite low.
  • The administered prices component is the main driver of inflation in Palangka Raya (0.54 percent) and Sampit (0.71 percent).
