Abstract

In January 2024, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Kalimantan Tengah Province will be 3.40 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.76. The highest inflation occurred in Kapuas at 4.70 percent with a CPI of 106.77 and the lowest occurred in Sampit Regency at 2.61 percent with a CPI of 104.88.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 7.05 percent; clothing and footwear group at 0.31 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.30 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 1.40 percent; health group by 1.79 percent; transportation group by 1.10 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 3.72 percent; education group of 2.55 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 2.61 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 1.16 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: information, communication and financial services groups by 0.11 percent.

The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate and year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Kalimantan Tengah Province for January 2024 are 0.20 percent each.
